Ryan LaPlante as Father Bane/ Writer/ Director – Ryan LaPlante is a graduate of Queen’s University and the Improv Conservatory Program at the Second City Training Centre in Toronto. While completing his degree in Kingston he co-founded Vagabond Theatre. Additionally he has worked as a director for a number of theatre companies throughout the province. He is a founding member of the sketch comedy troupe “Those Guys” and an announcer for the Improv Tag Team Championships in Toronto. Select stage credits include: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, The Pirates of Penzance, Romeo & Juliet, Jesus Christ Superstar and multiple sketch comedy revues. Select Television credits include: Extreme Babysitting, The Odd Squad and he provides the voice of Bakko for the upcoming cartoon Jerry and the Raiders. This is Ryan’s first feature film as writer/director, and he couldn’t be happier with the result. He believes passionately in HOLY HELL, his incredible production team and his amazing cast.
Alysa King is a multiple award-winning actress and star of last year’s festival smash Berkshire County. For her performance in Berkshire Alysa received the best actress award at both the HorrorQuest Film Festival and Blood in the Snow . She then switched gears and continued on to Queen’s University in Kingston, graduating in 2009 with an honours degree in Dramatic Arts and English Literature and Language. She also went on to complete a graduate degree in Education in 2010. While at Queen’s, she appeared in several Kingston productions and had the opportunity to create new Canadian roles with the Plastic People Theatre Company’s Punchline and Facebox Theatre’s Framed. She also had the privilege of performing in Canada’s first student Shakespearean Repertory Company, Vagabond Theatre, and revamped the classic play “Romeo and Juliet”, by playing Romeo as a female lead.She is proud to have something as crazy as Holy Hell amongst her body of work. She did it all for the Lord!
Michael Rawley as Dokes MacFarlane/Co-Producer) – Michael Rawley has been a professional actor for 34 years. He has specialized in playing villains for much of his career – hey – tall slim with a deep voice – ya play villains. He has played Scar in The Lion King, Jafar in Aladdin, Captain Hook in Peter Pan, The Dentist in Little Shop of Horrors and his favourite role to date – Scrooge in A Christmas Carol. He is thrilled to be adding Dokes McFarlane to this very esteemed list of character villains. Michael has recently been named AD/GM of the LaSalle Theatre in Kirkland Lake.
Luke LaPlante as Officer Blank – Luke LaPlante has been involved in theatre from a young age. Film has always been something that drew his interest. From community theatre to a role in YTV’s “King of the Camp” he enjoys it all. “Working on Holy Hell has been an amazing experience. It’s taught me about both acting and what goes on behind the scenes on a set. It’s been a privilege working with such a fantastic cast and crew.” Luke hopes to adapt his martial arts knowledge to fight choreography qualifications. He looks forward to the opportunity to be a part of future projects.
Shane Patrick McClurg as Sissy MacFarlane – Shane Patrick McClurg, having played good guys on the stage (Ken in RED and Tybalt in R&J), is proud to create his first villain: Sissy McFarlane. An avid artist, Shane is always creating; from launching a full-length graphic novel to writing, producing, set designing, and starring in his one act play, BLESS THIS MESS. HOLY HELL marks Shane’s first feature length film and he couldn’t be more pleased to break this new ground with such a fun and dark script.
Rachel Ann Little as Trisha MacFarlane – Rachel is a self-professed nerd who loves rap music, Lars Von-Trier movies and hats. She studied at Queen’s University where she earned a degree in Film & Media and followed her last year with an internship at the Festival de Cannes in 2010. She can be seen online in the award winning web-series Please Don’t Fire Me as Jess, and in the upcoming television series Magick. She is, and always be, a crazy one.
Reece Presley as Buddy MacFarlane – Reece Presley lives in Toronto, Ontario. He attended Queen’s University, where he graduated with a degree in Economics. His first acting role was as the moody, snake-like Emperor Saturnius in Shakespeare’s Titus Adronicus. Since then, he’s acted in many productions at Queen’s and the surrounding community. Selected stage credits are: Stanley Kowlaski in A Streetcar Named Desire, Benedick in Much Ado About Nothing, Oberon in A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Dr. Lyman Sanderson in Harvey. Holy Hell will be Reece’s first feature-length film credit. He would like to extend his deepest gratitude to all those involved with the project, for bringing him on board.
George Flores, CAS. MPSE. (Supervising Sound Editor) – George Flores is a Supervising Sound Editor with more than 38 feature films on his resume, alongside hundreds of hours of television and video games. With credits ranging from Resident Evil to The Big Comfy Couch, George has worked in every genre: but he is a master of horror and genre films. His credits include a decade worth of fan-favourites. The Scarehouse, The Drownsman, Septic Man, Antisocial, Monster Brawl, The Collapsed , Medium Raw and Neverlost all feature sound by George. His professionalism, talent and willingness to go above-and-beyond for the projects he takes on have made him a staple of the independent film circuit in Canada and internationally.
Adrian Ellis (Original Score) – Adrian Ellis is an award winning composer and multi-instrumentalist who studied in Canada and Germany. He is best known for his themes and music packages for Discovery Canada’s flagship Daily Planet, Canada AM, and both IIHF and CFL on TSN. He first came to note with his award winning score for the Canadian Screen Award nominated series Out With Dad, and his work as a producer for Late July, whose sophomore album was called a work of art from beginning to end by Spill Magazine. He has produced everything from solo artists to live orchestral scores, and appears on numerous recordings and live performances as a musician, arranger, and producer. Most recently he composed the score for the sorority slasher The Scarehouse.
Kyle C. Barker (Director of Photography) – Kyle C. Barker is a graduate of the Loyalist College Television and New Media program and has been involved in video production for the past five years. A lover of the arts, and a community theater supporter in both technical and acting roles, Kyle feels right at home working on the production of Holy Hell. Past credits include the Beacon National Student Award for best overall Video Commercial/Promo, Best Specialization 3D elements promo, and the Willy Harris Award.
